Designed as an extension to the existing multipurpose hall, the new Outside School Hours Care facility (or OSHC) creates flexible learning and play spaces connected by a generous covered breezeway. The addition shares existing amenities while opening north to maximise natural light and strengthen the connection between the building, playground and surrounding landscape.

Concept

The extension is conceived as two distinct buildings beneath a single roof, separated by a sheltered outdoor space that allows the architecture to breathe. Carefully positioned openings, layered screening and internal retreats encourage a variety of learning, play and quiet reflection, creating an environment that supports different ways for children to engage throughout the day.
