The Pavilion project revitalises the oval and its edge, combining new landscaping, lighting and irrigation with a multi-purpose shade structure extending from the adjoining building. Generous terraces create places for viewing, small group activities and social gatherings, while the pavilion can also transform into a stage for performances facing out across the oval.

Concept

Designed as an extension of both the building and landscape, the pavilion creates a strong threshold between the built environment and the open oval. Its generous roof, stepped brick terraces and angled structure form a sheltered gathering place that can shift between everyday use, spectatorship and performance.
